POET'S MANIC STREET PREACHERS DRUM TRACKS ARE BACK!
Hello and I'm glad you've found your way to my Manics drum track site!
The aim of this site is simple - to provide you with high quality drum
tracks for the songs of the Manic Street Preachers. Please let me know
if you have a request and check out my main homepage at
willjonesdrums.co.uk for news about my
band, Kids Love Lies!

It was the Manics who inspired me to take up the drums, shortly
after I heard If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next for the
first time in August 1998. In July 1999 I finally received my first drum
kit and taught myself to play by learning as many Manics songs as I
could.
In 2005 I started this site during a break between bands and it was
quickly sought out by guitarists and singers who required authentic live
drum tracks for their Manics covers. Towards the end of the year I was
unable to continue updating the site with new recordings and it fell
dormant until the Autumn of 2009, when during another between-bands
break I decided to go back and re-record many of the songs.

THE DAY I GOT MY FIRST DRUM KIT WAS THE DAY I PLAYED THE DRUMS FOR
THE FIRST TIME.
- I HAVE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE PLAYED NEARLY A HUNDRED GIGS IN
BOTH THE UK AND EUROPE.
- I MET SEAN MOORE IN 2002 AND TOLD HIM WHAT AN INSPIRATION HE HAS
BEEN.
- IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO LEARN THE DRUMS! |
 |
Some of
the recordings offered here are exact replications and others
contain a few improvisations - either Sean's live improvisations or
my own, made in places where I felt he could have added a bit more
to the track.
In the process of recording the songs, I record exclusively to a
click (also known as a metronome), which keeps the songs in perfect
time. I am able to work out the exact
tempo at which each song was recorded originally by the Manics. The
clicks are important to my recordings as there are passages in some of
the songs which don't feature the drums at all, so I have provided
the clicks to help keep you in time.
